Xsara Saloon

The design of the Xsara is the work of Citroen's Creative Styling Centre in Velizy, outside Paris. From any angle of observation, the effect is modern and appealing, with shapes and volumes working together to suggest strength, elegance and zest for life.

The pure and sober external styling of the Citroën Xsara reflects the central theme of elegance and draws upon the styling features of top-end segments. The combination of a plunging nose and a more compact rear give the Citroën Xsara the looks of a sparky thoroughbred. The "muscled" style of the short rear suggests latent power. The Xsara has a reassuring air, inspiring a sense of protective safety.

The shape of the Xsara's hatch resembles a three-box vehicle reminiscent of the large family touring saloons at the top end of the market. The Citroën Xsara is both classic and modern, luxurious but fluid.

All of the above details serve to underline the robust design of the Xsara and its ability to stand the test of time. The ribbed bonnet gives the front of the vehicle a dynamic air, while the radiator grille - featuring larger chevrons underlined by an elegant chrome-plated strip - testifies to membership of the Citroën family. The single-lens headlamps accentuate the molten lines and high-quality finish of the vehicle. The painted front and rear bumpers are equipped with broad strips to protect the car from the minor knocks of urban driving. These strips, providing "protection of the protective part", are attached in three pieces in order to cut the cost of any repairs. The protective side mouldings perform the same function. The autoclave wrapover doors limit the number of style lines and increase the fluidity of the overall design.

Xsara Coupé

With its molten lines, the Xsara Coupé is a head-turner. The streamlined bonnet and robust rear end express power, solidity and feline strength.

The sharp looks of the coupé acquire further edge on the VTS sports model, with its front skirt, rear spoiler and 15" aluminum wheel rims.

The streamlined looks of the Xsara are accentuated by the purity of the waistline, which describes a gently rising sweep. The front doors testify to the accessibility of the vehicle, while the balanced design at front and rear holds the promise of a particularly spacious interior.

The Xsara Coupé is more than an entertaining sports car. It is an authentic five-seater family Coupé with the comfort of a large saloon.
