Citroen Xsara Kit Car CITROEN TAKES ANOTHER WIN
WITH THE XSARA

Following the death of Mark Champeau, second placed in the French Rally Championship, during reconassence for the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, the atmosphere for the event was sombre, even for Citroen who recorded another victory for the Xsara kit car, further extending Philippe Bugalski's championship lead.

Philippe Bugalski - Jean Paul Chiaroni, first on the scene of Mark Champeau of the accident were badly affected by the accident, demonstrated their professionalism by continuing in the event. They recorded, nevertheless, another win, their 6th consecutive win in the 1999 French rally championship.

Philippe Bugalski commented after the event: "We would have wished to win in other circumstances. A lot of things disrupted us before the race and just completing the event was emotionally difficult, let alone winning."
