CITROËN OFFERS A UNIQUE SOLUTION TO LONG LOADS IN SMALL VANSThe all-new Citroën Berlingo, now on sale in Australia with prices from $17,500, offers a unique optional solution for all trades-people that have to carry long loads in small vans. At the end of the roof, and before the rear door, is a flap that opens up to allow long loads, such as ladders, to go out through the back of the roof. "This feature is more than just a convenience," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën Australia. "It makes carrying long loads considerably safer. For a start, the majority of the load remains inside the vehicle, behind two secured doors, as does the load within the van. Secondly, by being angled upwards, rather than horizontally loaded, a long load carried in this manner does not represent a hazard to following vehicles."
The rear roof flap is one of many features that prove that the Citroën Berlingo has been designed from the start as a working vehicle, not a car with a box crudely added to the back of it. These features range from the impressive interior volume of 3.2 cubic metres and the 800 kg payload, to the front passenger seat, which doubles as a table, and a 100 litre out-of-sight storage locker. "Citroën has a long and illustrious history of making benchmark commercial vehicles, including what are arguably the first box van and the first car-derived van," explains Miles Williams. "This experience and expertise shines through in the Berlingo, from its ease of driving to the myriad of features that enhance its everyday commercial vehicle use." For further information please
