Illuminated Eiffel Tower with Citroen name Advertising and communications

André Citroën is ahead of his time in his use of modern communications and advertising. Between 1919 and 1934, he uses every means at his disposal to publicise the Marque and its products. Examples include Citroën road signs, Citroën transport, Citroën taxis, Citroën insurance, replacement parts, Citroën toys, the illumination of the Eiffel Tower, and Europe's biggest shop in Paris.

André Citroën also has a talent for organising special events such as the name Citroën written in the sky over Paris 1922 or the tour of the quai de Javel plant by Charles A. Lindbergh, a few days after his historic flight across the Atlantic. A trail-blazer in all forms of communication, the founder of Citroën is still considered as a model, a man whose example is frequently followed and sometimes imitated by specialists in communications and commercial techniques today. Is it really just chance that Citroën is the most popular Marque with collectors the world over?

Recent advertising campaigns, which call upon world famous top models to underline the merits of the Marque's products, continue the tradition of creativity and daring.
