Opening at Sydney's SOHO Galleries on 23 March 1999, the exhibitions of the work of Marie Paule Fath and Guy Detot will provide two unique presentations that will offer diversity to the mix of art works available in Australia.

Marie Paule Fath work Marie Paule Fath is a figurative painter who lives in the south of France, who through her work metamorphoses reality to illustrate the dreams, fear and hopes of those both with us and departed. Her style is both beautiful and masterful, with oil, collage and ink providing her work with a very personal and special depth.

Guy Detot work French born, Guy Detot has lived in Australia since 1982. Although he has always had a strong affinity for sculpture, he is also a professional dancer and his work reveals a deep understanding of movement, rhythm, lyricism and the flow of nature. The Australian influence in his work is clear: He uses as his sculptural medium the red gum wood that dominates his South Australian home. His work celebrates the nude human form as well as animal forms, such as horses.

The SOHO Galleries are at the corner of Crown and Cathedral Streets, Sydney. Full details of the exhibition are available at the gallery's web site, http://www.sohogalleries.net.
